Prof Chong Tow Chong as the President and founding Provost of SUTD, he plays an instrumental role in steering the strategic development and operationalisation of SUTD.Prior to his present appointment, Prof Chong was a Professor with the National University of Singapore and the Executive Director of Data Storage Institute and Science and Engineering Research Council at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research concurrently.Prof Chong authored and co-authored more than 400 publications in international refereed journals, presented more than 35 invited talks and registered 25 patents. He received numerous awards such as the President’s Science and Technology Medal, the Public Administration Medal (Silver), the ASME ISPS Division Leadership in Research and Development Award and the Teaching Excellence Award from the NUS.Prof Chong received his Bachelor Degree from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Masters Degree from the National University of Singapore and Doctor of Science Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology – all in Electrical Engineering.

张道昌教授是新加坡科技设计大学校长、学校历史上第一位教务长，他在学校的战略发展和运作中发挥着指导性作用。张教授曾任新加坡国立大学教授，同时兼任新加坡科技研究局下属的数据存储研究所所长和科学与工程研究理事会执行理事。张教授以作者和合作者的身份在国际知名期刊上发表了400多篇论文，受邀出席了35场以上的会议，并做专题演讲，注册了25项专利。张教授曾荣获新加坡国家科学与科技奖章、ASME ISPS研究发展领导力奖及新加坡国立大学卓越教学奖等多项奖项。张教授分别于东京工业大学、新加坡国立大学和麻省理工学院获学士、硕士和博士学位，专业均为电气工程。
