Prof. Dr. XU Jiang is Vice Dean and Professor (Tenure track) of College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University. He serves as Director of the Teaching and Experimental Center as well as Program Director of Design Strategy and Management (master-level) of the College. He is also strategic consulting and research expert of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, specialist for the improvement of high-level scientific research ability of Tongji University, deputy secretary-general and executive director of the Industrial Design Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), member of Dragon Design Foundation, reviewer of Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering (CJME), etc. He was awarded “China’s Top Ten Youth in Design Industry of 9th Dragon Design Award”, “Young scientific and technological talent of Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology”, “Outstanding young teacher”, etc.His research focuses on design strategy and management, design education and product innovation design. He undertook many high-level scientific research projects, including general the National Natural Science Foundation of China, projects of the National Social Science Fund of China, supporting projects of Ministry of Science and Technology, major consulting projects for “Strategic Research on Innovative Design and Development” of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He published more than 40 SCI/EI/CSSCI papers in core journals. Furthermore, he completed many influential books and reports, such as “Frontier Report of Design Science”, “Suggestions on Developing Innovative Design” (State Council Paper reported by Chinese Academy of Engineering [2015-23]), “Comprehensive Report on Development Strategy of Innovative Design in China”, “Research on Design Competitiveness of Chinese Enterprises”, “Road Map for Development of Innovative Design in China”, “Road Map of China’s Mechanical Engineering Technology”, “Case Study of Innovative Design 2015”, “Case Study of Innovative Design 2017”, “Innovative Design in Manufacturing Industry” , etc.

主持和参与中国工程院创新设计发展战略研究重大咨询项目、重点咨询项目、国家自然科学基金、教育部重点实验室开放基金等项目。在国内外重要期刊上发表SCI/EI论文20余篇，参与撰写《关于大力发展创新设计的建议》（中工报[2015-23]文）、《中国机械工程技术路线图》、《中国创新设计发展路线图》、《创新设计2015 案例研究》等具有重要行业影响力的著作与报告。担任多届各类国际和国内设计论坛嘉宾、设计赛事的评委专家。策划组织国家自然科学基金委员会2013“设计与制造前沿”国际会议分论坛、2015年中国工程院“中国好设计”评选活动、中国工程院战略咨询项目启动会、国家自然科学基金工业设计领域项目进展交流会、全国两会“工业设计”提案座谈会、全国工业设计高级研修班、国际工业设计研讨会及IEEE 计算机辅助工业设计与概念设计国际会议（CAID&CD）等20余项有影响力的学术活动。
